Born in North Carolina with roots from New York, Virginia and Jamaica, SaXx has felt the presence of music all throughout his life. From an early age his father would play records from the greats… Patty Labelle, Temptations, Phoebe Snow and so many more. He began to understand what great music was. Deep rooted in the Jamaican culture as his mom was from Kingston SaXx’s love for Caribbean music came naturally. Later as he progressed he would find Eric B. and Rakim, Nas, Biggie, Tribe Called Quest all through his ties with his NY family. However, it was in high school that he fell for the harmony, musicality and unique sounds that groups like Shai, Jodeci, Boys To Men, and others would bring to music.

Continuing with his passion for music SaXx began to write poetry on the times he could not use his uncles keyboard. His uncle had a TS-10 that he would sometimes allow SaXx to use. Because of that very limited access his other creative gifts began to grow. From drawing, singing, writing, beat boxing to playing the Saxophone his sound was constantly changing and evolving. Ultimately in college he began to hang with his cousin that he felt was a master producer who also introduced him to Outkast. Amazed by the creativity and out-of-the box thinking in terms of music creation SaXx sought out to do the same thing. All throughout his journey there was one saying that rang to be true; “Find something you like and there is always something better. Find something you Love and nothing better will matter.
In High School SaXx had a cam corder that he took everywhere. Editing stop frame videos, doing skits, and music videos.
In College SaXx marched with the Legion and is also where he received his nickname (not completely related). During this time SaXx began to experiment with sounds, mixes, art, and mediums. He joined a band and lived for open mics. He did his work study at WNSB and hosted a morning show segment where he was immersed in even more music and culture.
SaXx is constantly exploring sounds through noise, words by alliteration, colors through video, and pushing the creative envelope. Lately, he has begun a fascination with scoring videos, commercials, animations etc… The goal is to enjoy life through creativity.
